Director of Weekday Programs
We are seeking a Director of weekday children’s programs who has a passion for children’s success and well-being, along with high moral standards, integrity, and the ability to develop and motivate staff. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day and overall operations of the Programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines while supporting our mission to enhance learning and development for each child in a Christian environment. The Director of Presbyterian Weekday Children’s Programs performs managerial duties for the Presbyterian Weekday School, the Afterschool/Summer Program and Mother’s Morning Out.
The Director has the responsibility for delivery of the instructional program for the accredited preschool and overall operation of the children’s programs including: marketing plan implementation, student enrollment, parent and community relations, staff supervision and development, and financial management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Successfully implement an approved preschool curriculum for the Weekday School. Provide quality educational programs to maintain accreditation.
  • Maintain working knowledge of, and compliance with, all federal and state requirements and standards conforming to all applicable Health, Safety and Licensing regulations. Implementing fire drills, evacuation planning and annual CPR/First Aid training.
  • Oversee the directors of the After School and Mother’s Morning Out programs to ensure that they are meeting this same standards.
  • Increase enrollment and retention of students.
  • Provide parent tours and orientation to school policies and procedures, provide applicable materials (Including parent and staff handbooks) and facilitate meetings.
  • Develop strong relationships with families through clear communication and positive daily interactions. Collect and address parent feedback in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Actively develop and maintain positive staff relationships and parent/volunteer partnerships, balancing all resources effectively.
  • In conjunction with the Preschool Steering Committee, develop and manage an annual budget and assist in billing and collection of tuition, as well as maintain monthly budget reports and analyzing areas of opportunity and recommend changes needed.
  • Manage all hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, observation and evaluation of Weekday School personnel and ensure necessary documentation is provided for personnel records to comply with legal and Church standards.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of an ongoing strategic marketing and communications plan to include, but not limited to, website design and maintenance, social media presence, parental communications, and opportunities to promote the program to both the First Presbyterian Church congregation and general public
  • Create and facilitate special events and fundraisers.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, attractive school, and classroom environment conducive to learning, observing all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in a licensed childcare facility, kindergarten or early childhood program, including management experience in Early Childhood Education.
  • Knowledge of principles, techniques, goals and objectives of early childhood education.
  • Clearly understand child development and age-appropriate education and discipline practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress with the ability to handle parent and staff concerns effectively and efficiently.
  • Highly professional and dependable with a positive attitude and friendly demeanor
  • Administrative/ business experience including strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the willingness to learn other programs and skills as needed.
  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and honesty, including but not limited to, confidentiality of student, family, and employee information as required by both church policy and federal and state laws.
