A Personal Relationship with God
Read Philippians 3:12-16
Devotional by Kelly and Rick Hovis
Living daily with God, for me, is a continual “reset.” Each day I strive to begin with a connection to our Father. Like all relationships, it needs to be nurtured and strengthened. God wants a personal relationship with us. He knows we are not perfect and he wants us to live for the future and look ahead. I start my day with my Bible, reading his will. Each morning is different. Everyone’s journey is filled with challenges. As I sit in the quiet with God, I feel my relationship strengthen. My spirit is renewed and my energies are once again ready to face the day. As in Philippians, We all are not perfect but each day we use God’s teachings to follow his will. We all hope to one day receive the glorious “prize” given to us because of what Jesus Christ did for us! Thanks be to God!
Prayer Father, please give us a heart like Mary. We want to follow your word faithfully. As this journey called life gives us joys and hurdles, we know you are with us. With our whole heart, thank you for your love, patience, and guidance. AMEN.
