Speakers

Russ Keeney, MA, LPC
Russ is a licensed counselor in NC affiliated with CareNet Counseling, an affiliate of Wake Forest Baptist Health. Russ has experience with individual, couples, adolescents, and family therapy. He is committed to helping individuals discover their true selves in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. His background in trauma and family work have become well known in the community and amongst other professionals in the field. He is committed to creating a safe place to look inward. He invites people to integrate their own faith/spirituality and in turn become whole in body, mind and spirit. Along life’s journey, we all need occasional assistance to help deal with the stressors of life and to reclaim the fullness that life can offer.
Russ’s experience includes work as individual and couples therapist, family preservation social worker, and as a Family Centered Therapist. He has experience in issues of anger management, anxiety/depression, impulse control, trauma/ptsd, and ongoing life adjustments. Russ graduated from GCTS in 2003 with an MA in counseling. He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2006.

Dr. Trish Murray
Trish is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) who has been providing counseling services to individuals and couples for over 25 years. She has worked in various settings, including college/university counseling centers, community mental health, employee assistance, and addiction centers. She has worked with people to help them address issues related to anxiety, depression, work related stress, career transitions, grief and loss, self care and resilience
She earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from West Virginia University, and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Geneva College.

Kim Leppert, MSW, LCSW, CSAT, CCTP, CCATP, EMDRIA Certified, Brainspotting Levels 1, 2, and 3
Kim has been working with individuals, couples, and families for 25+ years. Since 2013, she has been educating and assisting people in their journey of recovery from sexual addiction, pornography addiction, partner betrayal, and improving coupleship intimacy. Kim conducts individual sessions and couple sessions as well as facilitating weekly recovery groups. A trauma therapist by nature, she has a background working with domestic violence and sexual assault. Kim is trained in multiple trauma maintains her certification in sexual addiction with the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals and her EMDR certification through EMDRIA.
“Sex Addiction” was diagnosed as an addiction for the first time in 1983 by Dr. Patrick Carnes. Since that time, there has been dispute in the therapeutic and lay community as to the validity of sex/porn as an addiction. Estimates range from 12-30 million sex addicts in the US. The amount and intensity of porn on the internet grows exponentially every year. Sex Addiction has many complexities, but at its core, is believed to be a process addiction, a negative coping skill; like gaming, gambling, or even food.

Stefanie Jester, MA, LMFT, CSAT, CCTP, CCATP, EMDRIA Certified, and Brainspotting 1, 2, 3

Valerie has practiced nursing in Gaston County for over 25 years, she has had the privilege of caring for individuals of all ages, with varying degrees of physical and mental health needs. Her areas of nursing practice have been in home health, assisted living facilities, group homes, and hospital settings. She has trained in Faith Community Nursing, focusing on the spiritual connection between physical and mental health wellness. She has continued her nursing education to earn an MBA in HealthCare Management, and Masters of Science in Nursing-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Ingram has provided pastoral care for individuals, families, and groups while serving a number of churches in Western North Carolina as an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church since 1994. He completed a Master’s in Social Work in the spring of 2012, is Licensed in Clinical Social Work, and is certified in spiritual direction. He has significant experience working with individuals and groups in recovery from substance abuse both in inpatient and outpatient settings, and has worked with individuals struggling with a variety of mental health issues, including bi-polar disorder, depression, and relationship issues.
Rev.
