Presbyterian Weekday School is a nationally-accredited half-day preschool which offers a unique, developmentally-appropriate program designed to foster the healthy development of young children in a loving, Christ-centered environment.

About Us
For over 60 years, the Presbyterian Weekday School (PWS) located at First Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, NC, has offered developmentally appropriate, faith-based, Early Childhood Education for area children as a community outreach. We feel a child's growth in the Christian faith is best nurtured by loving adults who are themselves persons of faith.
PWS offers a nationally accredited Preschool program serving children between the ages of two and five years old. PWS is dedicated to top quality early childhood care and instruction, using research-based curricula and delivery practices.
Our staff adheres to the standards of the National Accreditation Commission (NAC), and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our guide for implementing developmentally appropriate practices stems from the Creative Curriculum from Teaching Strategies, LLC., in Preschool. Teachers use their understanding of child development to create a warm learning environment and plan activities that meet each child at their current level of cognitive, language, physical, spiritual and social development. All of these targeted practices are strategically put in place to create an environment that encourages a lifelong pleasure of learning.

Admission
One month of tuition is due on May 2nd to hold your child's place - this payment is applied to tuition for the month of May; monthly tuition is due the first day of each month. To register your child, return completed enrollment form plus the registration fee (payable by check to First Presbyterian Church PWS) to PWS online, by mail, or in person.
Please note enrollment forms are considered in the order received, and class offerings are subject to change based on enrollment at registration. Classes will be assigned with consideration to desired program, diversity, age of child, and balance of gender.
