Meet Alex Adams

Alex Adams
Receptionist

As the receptionist at First Presbyterian Church, I serve with a heart rooted in faith and a deep desire to reflect God’s love in every interaction. My journey has included seasons of struggle, personal mistakes, and the weight of worldly injustice as I sought to do what was best for my family. Through it all, I’ve come to know the unwavering presence of God—beautifully expressed in Psalm 139: He knows me more deeply than I know myself and is with me in every moment, both joyful and challenging.

I am committed to serving not only as a Christian but as a vessel of peace and compassion. I believe that every person who walks through our church doors is a divine appointment, and I strive to greet each one with the same grace God has shown me.

Gardening has become a spiritual practice that connects me to God’s creation and reminds me of His abundance. I find joy and peace in tending my backyard garden, especially caring for my citrus trees. Currently, I grow several varieties—including oranges, tangerines, lemons, Meiwa kumquats, and grapefruit—all in 18-gallon pots that line my garden.

I’m not alone in this journey. My dog Harvey, a beautiful tan dachshund whom I affectionately call my brother, serves as head of security. He alerts me to visitors with his distinct barking tones and keeps squirrels and groundhogs at bay. Though we didn’t always get along while my mother was living, we’ve grown closer since her passing, learning to support one another in new ways.
