Pastoral care
Pastoral Care MinistryThe Pastoral Care Committee consists of trained volunteers who visit shut-ins and those in our worshiping community with special needs. The Committee meets monthly to receive assignments. E-mail our minister of visitation, Pastor John Stanley, to request pastoral care or training to assist with this ministry.
Congregational CareThe Board of Deacons and the Congregational Care Committee celebrate members' birthdays, anniversaries, and other life events through personal telephone calls, electronic messages, cards, and notes.

Pastoral Counseling

We are very pleased to offer pastoral counseling through Carenet Counseling, an affiliate of Wake Forest Health. Russ Keeney, MA, LPC, provides on-site counseling with his office located at First Presbyterian Church. However, due to COVID-19, only telehealth counseling is available at this time.
As an essential service, Carenet Counseling is committed to providing clinical mental health care to all of its clients—while also protecting clients and staff. Because of the quick actions and flexibility of CareNet’s compassionate team, they have enabled counselors throughout the state to continue providing secure, internet-based telehealth service.
By all accounts, the need for counseling is as crucial now as ever. Referrals continue to be strong and our counselors are still working at full capacity. Carenet Counseling remains committed to serving clients regardless of their ability to pay. In this difficult time, CareNet Counseling will continue to be a source of strength for our communities.
To schedule an appointment, call Russ Keeney at 704-291-4173. Russ hopes to be of assistance to you during this time of transition.
